Developed by the team of Australian aerospace engineer Ben Biggs, the “Blackbird” pure electric quadcopter completed its official speed test in February 2026. Under the standard two-way flight verification protocol, it achieved an average speed of 661km/h over the measured section and a top tailwind speed of over 690km/h, breaking the existing speed record for pure electric quadcopters. Featuring a tractor-type aerodynamic layout and a 3D-printed carbon fiber fuselage, it is equipped with high-rate power batteries and a water-cooled motor system, delivering industry-leading thrust-to-weight ratio and extreme speed performance in its class. This device has been officially listed by LAWRENCE WORLD RECORDS CERTIFICATION as the “Fastest Pure Electric Quadcopter Drone by Flight Speed”.
